About Me
Hi! I'm Michelle Monson and I was born in 1972 (you can do
the math!). I've lived my whole life in the northern states of
Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. I've been married to a
wonderful man for 13 years. He's a pastor and I try to help
him out as much as I can. We have 4 children (3 boys and 1
girl) so there is rarely a quiet moment at our house.
My passion is genealogy and when the "bug" bit me I
wondered why I was so captivated by this pursuit. Here is a
list of the reasons genealogy fits me so well:
1. I love my family. It's always been so important to me.
2. I love puzzles. Fitting a family tree together is like a
giant puzzle.
3. I love languages. I was a Spanish major in college, I
studied German in high school, and I am currently
learning Swedish.
4. I love antiques. Family history is full of priceless
heirlooms that I treasure.
5. I love details. I can spend hours scouring over old
parish records looking for a tidbit of information,
and I actually find that relaxing and fun. Sick, isn't it?
6. I love treasure hunts. There is nothing quite so
thrilling (to me!) as finding a clue that breaks the
case wide open and leads to more and more
information.
As you can see, this is really a sickness! But don't bother
finding a cure--I am happy the way I am.
