Georg Heinrich Schnell was born on 16 Jun 1849 in Norka, Saratov,
Russia to Heinrich Schnell and Elizabeth Priesendorf. He was the
youngest of 11 children.
On 9 Feb 1870 he married Anna Maria Köhler in Norka.
They had 9 children:
Anna Charlotte, b. 20 Mar 1872
Johannes, b. 30 Jun 1874- d. Nov 1875
Katharine Maria, b. 25 Feb 1877
Lydia, b. 7 Mar 1879
Philip, b. 5 May 1881
Johan Georg, b. 23 Apr 1884- d. 14 Dec 1885
Peter, b. 11 Jan 1887
Heinrich, b. 20 Jan 1889- d. 20 Oct 1891
John, b. 15 Jul 1891
Georg died in March of 1909. Two years later his wife and sons
Philip, Peter and John emigrated to Canada. His daughter Lydia also
came with her husband John Traudt. This was fortunate as they did
not live in Russia during the Russian Revolution or WWI.
