Kristina, c. 1908

She married Olof Johan Harlin on December 11, 1887 in Jussjö, Skorped, Västernorrland, Sweden.
They lived next door to her parents until they immigrated to the United States. Olof went to the U.S. in
1900 with his brother Karl Oskar. He worked and saved money for the tickets for his family. Kristina
came in 1902 with the children on the S.S. Germanic. They brought their own food along for the voyage
overseas and bought their milk. After arriving in New York, they took the train to Minnesota. She
asked the conductor to tell them when they reached their destination of Ogilvie, but he forgot.
Kristina and the children ended up in Mora that evening and were put up in a hotel until they could
take a train back to Ogilvie the next day. Ole didn't know the exact date of their arrival, so he waited at
the train station everyday to see if they were on the train. He went back home when they didn't get off
of the train from Minneapolis. The next day when a neighbor lady saw a woman and 5 children get off
the train from Mora and waiting at the station, she went running over to Ole yelling, "Ole! Ole! Your
family is here!" What a happy reunion that must have been after 2 long years! Their son Karl remained
in Sweden with Ole's mother Anna Brita Olsdotter and her 2nd husband since there wasn't enough
money for all of the children to come. Ole and Kristina planned to have Karl come to the U.S. after they
saved up more money, but he decided to stay in Sweden.
Olof and Kristina had 10 children:
Karl Johan, b. 25 Jan 1888 in Sweden

from her home in Ann Lake township to Mora to see her.
